Domaine du Salvard, Cheverny Blanc 2022

Domaine du Salvard is a true stalwart of France's Loire Valley. Based in the village of Cheverny, they are now in their fifth generation of Delaille-family ownership. They focus on what has put Cheverny wines on the map: the blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Their 2022 is made up of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Chardonnay. The grapes are harvested, left on their skins briefly before ageing on the fine lees for 12 months. The Sauvignon Blanc gives the wine a really complex nose of lychee, acacia and ripe lemon, with the Chardonnay adding to the balanced yet rich palate. Great as an aperitif, with seafood, or paired with goat's cheese.
